Leslie Philhower

Leslie "Jake" Philhower, age 92, of Middletown, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Kensington Place. He was born June 5, 1919 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of George Washington Philhower and Margaret Spahr Philhower. Jake retired from Armco Steel in 1981, and was a member of First Baptist Church. He is survived by three daughters, Donna Gary Perkins of Middletown, Sue Walter Firth of Columbus, Barb Ron Cobb of Franklin; two sons, Mike Lauretta Philhower of Middletown, Scott Robyn Philhower of Middletown; grandchildren, Joanna Perkins, Adam fiancée, Star Robertson Perkins, Matt Lorra Firth, Nathan Carrie Firth, Annie Cobb, Brad Nancy Philhower, Amanda Wes Flinn, Dana Brian Korzilius; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. Philhower in 2002. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Fey officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM Tuesday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery.
