Loretta McGuire

A devoted homemaker and the faithful, strong, and brave matriarch of our family, Loretta shared 70 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jim. Her deep faith and community spirit shone through her dedicated involvement with Hillcrest Baptist Church, the Lions Club, Sherman Glen, and Deardoff. Loretta’s heart was always in her home, where she lovingly cared for countless babies within and beyond her own family. She found great joy in reading, tending to her flower gardens, canning food, and crocheting and quilting beautiful keepsakes. Above all, she was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who leaves behind a profound legacy of love.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, daughters Marsha McGuire and Michelle Layne, and son-in-laws, Keith Maugans and Dave Eversole.

Loretta is survived by 1 brother and 1 sister, her daughters, Melissa Eversole and Myra “Janine” Maugans, and son-in-law, Tim Layne (Johnna). Five grandchildren; Rachel (Keith), Brian (Megan), Emiley, Molly (Michael), and Leah (Dieter); seven great-grandchildren; Alexis, Julia, David, Isaac, Joseph, Elijah, and Luke; and one great-great granddaughter; Amelia.

Loretta's family will receive friends at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East 2nd Street, Franklin, Friday, July 24 starting at 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Following services, Loretta will be laid to rest next to her beloved Jim in Springboro Cemetery.
