Lydia Helton, age 96, of Miamisburg, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Thursday February 27, 2014 at Carlisle Manor. She was born in Stacy Fork, Kentucky on February 6, 1918 to Robert and Stella (Blevins) Lewis. Lydia was an original member of the Wood Road Church in 1959 now Temple of Praise. She loved her garden, cooking, (her specialty was fried chicken and chicken-n-dumplings), loved the gatherings of family members on holidays and Sunday dinners. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Lewis, mother, Stella Lewis, husband, Charles "Charlie" Helton, son, Kenneth "Kenny" Helton, brothers, Arnie Lewis, Elbert Lewis, Carmey Lewis, Charles Lewis, grandson, Dale Helton, and daughter-in-law, Margie Helton. Lydia is survived by 5 sons Glenn (Linda) Helton, Jimmy (Shanda) Helton, Joseph (Brenda) Helton, Lonnie Helton, Gary "Randy" (Sharon) Helton; a daughter-in-law Kay Helton; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral services are 1:00 pm Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Homes 40 North Main Street Springboro, Ohio with Reverend Lonnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.
