Marvin Monroe

Marvin Eugene Monroe, age 81 of Monroe, died Saturday at Spring Hill Middletown. He was born September 27, 1930 in Middletown, the son of Jesse Monroe and Mary Swiger Monroe. Marvin retired from AK Steel and was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Monroe; two sons, Mike Monroe, and Randy wife, Valerie Monroe; four grandchildren, Erin Monroe, Kevin wife, Jillian Monroe, Greg Monroe and Amy husband, Jeremiah Manley; four great grandchildren, Desmond Helvey, Jackson Manley, Maya Manley and Maddox Monroe. The family wishes to thank the staff of Spring Hill Middletown and Hospice of Dayton for their excellent care. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam in 2008.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Dr. Timothy Waugh officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday.

Burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
