

Bertram, Mary “Helen”, age 91 of Middletown, Ohio passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Zachariah, Kentucky, the daughter of Amp and Edna (Thacker) Burnett. Helen was a graduate of Lee County High School and went on to graduate from St. Josephh’s Hospital The Sisters of Charity as a R.N. Helen spent most of her working years as a certified occupational Health Nurse with Aeronca Inc. and Armco Steel Inc. (AK Steel) retiring in 1987.
Helen is survived by her husband of 69 years, Leo H. Bertram; a daughter, Sharon K. (husband, James) Hall of Ticonderoga, New York; and three handsome grandsons, Jason (wife, Natalie) Hall of Weston, Connecticut, Jeremy Hall of North Carolina, and Justin Hall of New York; two great grandchildren, Sophie and Aidan Hall; a brother in law, Corbin Bertram of Springfield and sisters in law, Eleanor Bertram of Middletown, Sylvia Burnett of Beattyville, Kentucky; nieces, Valerie Burnett and Janet Burnett of Kentucky; several cousins and many dear friends of Middletown, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; brother, Carl Burnett; and nephew, Michael Burnett. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Breiel Boulevard First Church of God. For many years, Helen was an active member of the Keenagers Group where she enjoyed serving on planning and decorating committees.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at the Mary Kittredge Chapel at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village with Chaplain Karen Fleming officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery.
