Michael Steven Joo Sr., "Jooman", 65, passed away Saturday, September 28th, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mike is survived by the love of his life, Beth Marie Beisner; daughter, Jacqueline Beth Moore (Jason Moore); sons Michael Steven Joo Jr. and Matthew James Joo; sister Susan Lynn Goldshot (Dave Goldshot) and brother Robert Henry Joo, and several nieces and nephew. Mike was born in Dayton, OH on September 7, 1954 to Henry Walter Joo and Charlotte Ruth Litton, both deceased.

On September 18, 1976, he married Ellen Clare Reichert and they divorced in 1996 after having three (3) beautiful children.

Mike worked for Speedway LLC (formally known as Bonded Oil and Speedway Superamerica) from 1971 to 2000. He began as an hourly employee and was then promoted to Store Manager, District Manager, Associate Buyer and Advanced District Manager. He retired from Speedway LLC with 29 years of service.

Mike was born to be a risk taker with a keen mind for business that he utilized every day. Immediately after retiring, he started J&J Marketing Company in 2000 where he and his family own and operate four (4) retail stores (The Smoke Stop) in Franklin, Miamisburg, Germantown and Huber Heights.

He and his family bought Julia’s Night Club, Dayton, OH in 2006 and owned for 6 1/2 years. Mike enjoyed all sports but his love for Nascar, football and golf was unparalleled. He was an avid Jeff Gordon and Ohio State Buckeyes fan; and not a week went by where you could not find him on the golf course rain or shine. He loved spending time with family and friends whether that be on his back deck or on his Harley Davidson. He would come home from work each day to the enthusiastic kisses of his beloved Siberian Huskies, Bear and Maya.

Mike lived every day of his life with vigor, and he has touched the lives of countless people around him. For that he will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be Friday, October 4th, 11:00 am -1:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E Second St, Franklin, OH with service immediately following. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, OH. A procession will take place to the burial site where he will be laid to rest next to his Mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Michael Joo Sr., to the American Cancer Society. The family is especially grateful to Dr. Heather Riggs and the entire Kettering Cancer Care staff for their kindness and compassion.

Mike will be missed. The first time I met Mike we were in a skit together, when Bonded, Speedway, and Gastown joined together. It was a Wheel of Fortune skit. Mike was Pat Sajak. He was the best damn emcee Wheel of Fortune every had! He had a way of making everyone fit in and feel special. What a guy! Beth, I feel for you honey. If you need anything, Im here. Love you girl.

My deepest sorrow Michael, Jackie & Matt for the loss of your dad. And to you Beth for losing your life partner. I remember Mike as full of life. He was like a brother to me. I will cherish the memories of how Mike loved to dance and sing and eat at the Old Hickory on Brown St. Many a Saturday night we stood in line to get our ribs! It was always a blast to hang out, Mike was the life of the party. You will all be in my heart & prayers.
May Mike's soul by the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen.
