Michael (Mike) Dean Wagner age 75, born October 13, 1948, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2023 in Chipley, Florida. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather who had a deep love for cats and rescuing cats who were in need. As a 1967 Franklin High School Graduate, you could often find Mike on the football field showing off with the number 64 on his jersey. Upon graduation, he went on to join the United States Marines on August 28, 1967. He spent many years as a semi truck driver traveling all over the country. When Mike retired, he became the best pork and brisket smoker that Ohio ever seen, owning the business, Grumpy’s BBQ, with his wife, Sue. There was a reason the business was named Grumpy’s and Mike proudly owned that nickname given to him. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his son; Bryon Wagner, mother; Marilyn Deangelo, sisters; Joi Swartz and Diana Tuggle; daughter-in-law; Kristi Wagner, granddaughters; Kayla D’Alessandri and Bethany Wagner, grandsons; Brayden Wagner and Zachary Wagner, great-grandsons; Braylen D’Alessandri and Kamron D’Alessandri and great-granddaughter; Elke D’Alessandri. Along with many other friends and family.
He was reunited in heaven with his wife; Sue Wagner, son; Kenneth Wagner, father; Dean Wagner and his wonderful brother-in-law; Butch Swartz.
A visitation for Michael will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 4:00 PM, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005. A graveside service will occur Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45431. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's association.
