Chele was born on April 10, 1951, in Dayton, KY, and graduated from Centerville High School in 1969. She was fortunate to enjoy a 36-year career with the Carters and the rest of her tremendous work family at Lebanon Electric Supply.
Chele was surrounded by a terrific group of friends, most notably the “YaYa’s”, that per her words started out as a “Bowling Team that Eats” and eventually transitioned to an “Eating Team that Bowls”. Her friendships provided years of love and support as they bonded over dinners, telling stories about their children and grandchildren and playing ‘Words with Friends’. Chele was also an avid reader, enjoyed watching sports, and attended Southbrook Church. She had an infectious laugh and made people feel like they were the most important person in the room. But the role that she was most passionate about and thrived at was that of Mom/Grandma/Meemaw. Chele was always there whenever she was needed, yet mindful to give the independence to succeed and make mistakes. She was loving, supportive, compassionate, and protective. She was everyone’s biggest fan and never missed a game.
Chele was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Nicholson (Jackson). She is survived by her children Noel Meyer, AJ (Brittany) Meyer, and Shannon (Jeff) Callahan; her grandchildren Kyle (Ryan), Natalie, Zach, Tanner, Brooke, Alyssandra, Grey, Harmony, Emersyn; great grandchildren Cole and Elena; her brother Gary (Cris) Nicholson and their children Autumn, Bryan, and Andi; her brother Mike (Lisa) Nicholson and daughter Mithra.
While Chele’s family grieves her loss, we are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her wishes. At her request, a celebration of life will be held for close friends and family.
