

Millie was born on March 15, 1944, in Letcher County, Kentucky, to Nora (Caudill) Fields and Coleman Fields.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, Millie dedicated her life to serving and caring for others. For many years, she was a beloved teacher at Franklin High School and later continued touching countless young lives as a longtime substitute teacher in Carlisle. Beyond the classroom, Millie also served as a Girl Scout leader, mentoring generations of children with patience, compassion, and encouragement. Her ability to make every child feel seen, valued, and capable was a gift that left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Millie’s greatest joy was her family. She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband, Ronald Stewart, building a life centered around love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together they created a home that welcomed everyone with open arms, warm meals, and endless care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora (Caudill) Fields and Coleman Fields. Her brother Virgil Fields, and grandaughter Dylan Coffman.
Millie is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Stewart; her children, Joanne Hurley, Keith Stewart, and Carl Stewart; and her cherished grandchildren, Chris Hurley, Elijah Hurley, Katie Hurley, Haley Stewart, Lauren Stewart, Jackson Stewart, Logan Stewart, and Ava Stewart.
Millie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart, steadfast faith in others, and the countless lives she touched through her years of teaching and service. Whether in a classroom, at a Girl Scout meeting, or around the family table, she made people feel loved and important. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and in the many students and community members whose lives were made brighter because of her.
Visitation for Millie will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Franklin, Ohio, with funeral services immediately following. A celebration of Millie’s life will be held after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations or acts of kindness be made in Millie’s memory to the Humane Association of Warren County or Hospice of Ohio, continuing the compassion and generosity she showed throughout her life.
