Minnie Turner

Minnie Turner, of Carlisle, Ohio, and a native of Breathitt County (Wolf Coal), Kentucky, went to be with her Savior on February 17, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born to the late Irvin and Betsy Margaret Spicer.

She is survived by her son, Barry Turner (Betty), daughter-in-law Carolyn Turner, son-in-law John Sportelli . Grandchildren, Shawn (James III)McAtee, Victor (Sandra) Turner, Kenneth (Kathy)Turner, and Schuyler Alvey (Lance McDaniel). Four great-grandsons, and two Great Granddaughters. Sisters Jallie Drake, Pearl Hillard, and Beulah Shipley. She joins her husband of 45 years, Greenberry Turner; her daughter, Vicki Sportelli; her son, Bill Turner; son-in-law Dave Alvey; her brothers, Irvin Jr., Earl, and Walter Spicer; her sisters, Sarah White and Sola Johnson; along with many other beloved family members who have gone before her.

Minnie was a faithful member of Rose Chapel Baptist Church. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her “welcome home” with visitation on Friday, February 27th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and a worship service on Saturday, February 28th, at 10:00 a.m., at Anderson Funeral Home in Franklin, officiated by Sherrill Sizemore.
