

Noel Jackson Bolen, age 92, of Springboro, OH; died Tuesday September 29, at Hidden Springs Senior Living. Noel was born in West Virginia on March 3, 1934 to the late Garrett Noel and Jetty Inez (Atkins) Bolen.
Noel was a pipe-line welder for 40 years, a member of the West Carrollton Masonic Lodge #737 F.&AM, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed playing Bluegrass Music and Square Dancing with the Wheeler Dealers. He and his wife, Barbara, hosted a Bluegrass Festival at their home for over 40 years. He loved to travel to Bluegrass Festivals in his motor home. Noel was a professor at Sinclair Community College teaching multiple Bluegrass instruments. He was a kind and humble man who will be missed by all who knew him, especially the Bluegrass Community.
Noel was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bolen; his daughters, Irma May, Gail McPhearson; a grandson, Kelly Brewer; and his sister, Evelyn Francis. He is survived by his children, Lois Lane, Jackson Bolen, Teresa (Bill) Judd, Raymond (Sharon) Hipsher, Cathy (Mike) Lanier, Edward (Robin) Hipsher, Theodore “Ted” (Susan) Hipsher, 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; his brother, Norvel Bolen.
Funeral Services are 10am Monday October 5, 2026 at Anderson Funeral Home 40 N Main St Springboro, OH. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3pm to 6pm at the funeral home.
