Stoney worked for GM for 30 years, and enjoyed retirement. He was a Mighty Man of God. Stoney loved to pray for others, minister to family and friends and touched many lives. He achieved his Doctorate of Theology at the age of 60, and was an evangelist, preacher, and teacher. He was a member of both Solid Rock Church and Fellowship of Praise. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish, and after retirement he also took up taxidermy and chainsaw repair as hobbies. Stoney loved his family dearly, and was lovingly known as Papa, Poppy, and Dad by his daughters and grandkids.
Stoney and Fay hosted Bible Studies in their home for over 30 years, where he BOLDLY shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
He was preceded in death by his father, Foster Stone.
Stoney is survived by his wife Fay of 56 years; his mother, Ruth Claude; daughters, Tonya Stone (Debbie Fields) and Sonya (Daniel) Turner; grandson, Alec Turner, granddaughter, Ryleigh Pence, and grandson, Tom Pence; and brothers, Harry (Tonya) Stone, Rick (Sharon) Stone, and James (Tabitha) Stone; extended sister, Sis (Pete) Collier; and many other loving family members and friends.
