

Phyllis J. Jones, age 81, of Franklin, Ohio passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Sycamore Medical Center. She was born January 29, 1934 in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Aljournal and Maude (Carpenter) Lowe. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Aljournal M. Lowe and sister, Wanda M. Hamlin. Phyllis is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Melvin I. Jones; her three daughters, Michele L. (Hayes) Johnston of Brookville, Tamara L. (Kert) Radel of Fairfield, Angela M. Lewis of Carlisle; four grandsons, Patrick (Alyssa) Gunstream of Lewisburg, Matthew (Paige) Radel of Cincinnati, Andrew Radel of Cincinnati, Kyle Lewis of Cincinnati; two granddaughters, Elisabeth Johnston of London, England, Molly Lewis of Carlisle; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra L. (Kenneth) DeVilbiss of Germantown; brother, Charles Lowe of Mainville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was formerly employed with Elder Beerman and was a member of New Jersey Presbyterian Church. She was head majorette in both Germantown and Carlisle, Ohio when she was in high school. She also survived being paralyzed from the waist down by polio when she was a child. An osteopathic doctor pulled her through the ordeal. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Homes, 1357 East Second Street, Franklin, Ohio. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 am also at the funeral home, with Dr. Rev. Jeff Foster officiating. Burial will be in New Jersey Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
