
Dick graduated from Boston University where he obtained a bachelor's degree in fine arts. He has lived in several different areas including Kilmarnock, Virginia and Rowayton, Connecticut, where he owned Dick Franco's Harbor Wines. Dick was also quite the skipper, and sailed his two boats, both named the Goody Two Shoes. While in Connecticut he was a member of the Rowayton Point Yacht Club, as well as the Rappahannock River Yacht Club in Virginia. For over 25 years Dick organized and ran the Get Lost Regardless Road Rally in Connecticut with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Emily.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Candace (Sheward) Franco; daughter, Sarah (Benjamin) Butchart; grandchildren, Sebastian, and Maddox Butchart; stepsons, Jason, Ryan, Brad, and Matt Rupert; sister, Cynthia Franco; brother, Robert (Sue) Franco; as well as many extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
