

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Patricia Hough; two daughters, Tricia Hough Donadio and husband Arthur, and Kate Hough Cropp and husband Jordan; grandchildren Henry, Benjamin, Charlotte and Finn; sister Robin Hough Appelt; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He joins his grandson Elijah in heaven.
Rick was born in Staten Island, NY on August 29, 1944 to Richard and Ruby Hough. He graduated from Port Richmond high school in 1962 and began work for New York Telephone in 1967. Rick married Patricia M. Kingman of Brooklyn, NY in 1970 and relocated to Middletown, OH in 1974. He remained a lifelong telephone man and retired from Avaya Communications. Following a long family tradition, Rick was a Master Mason and past Master of the John W. Durst lodge F&AM in Dayton, as well as a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine, and Prosser Chapter OES. He was an avid square dancer with the Kittyhawk Squares in Kettering and passionate motorcyclist, active for many years with the Harley Owners Group in Xenia, OH. He loved skiing, camping, and target shooting with both firearms and archery.
Funeral services are Tuesday at 7pm at Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd St Franklin, OH with Rev. John Wagner officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shriner's Hospital for children.
