

Ricky Clay Sorrell, age 67, of Carlisle, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, OH. He was born on April 18, 1958, the son of the late, Lonnie and Betty (Perry) Sorrell. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Sorrell, Jr.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Linda (Whitaker) Sorrell; his children, Jaina (Denny) Dearth, Clay (Kristin) Sorrell and Brooklyn Cole; his siblings, Teresa (Jim) McCollar, Terry (Michelle) Sorrell, Larry (Becky) Sorrell; grandchildren, Wil Dearth, Tessa Dearth, Lola "Peanut" Dearth, Lucas, Dallas, Kaleb, Keagan and Grayson Lonnie Sorrell.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1977 and was a member of the 1977 State Championship Gymnastics Team. He also attended Ohio State University, where he was a member of their gymnastics team. Ricky retired from Appleton Paper in 2010.
Among his notable accomplishments were being a member of the Franklin High School 1977 State Gymnastic Champions and the 1977 Guinness Book of World Records for walking on his hands.
His most proud accomplishment was his family, his children and grandchildren. He loved to take them on Bigfoot Hunting Expeditions, golf cart rides and DQ trips. We will forever miss his smile. He was a little man with a big heart.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Horizon Pointe Church, 420 Mission Lane, Franklin, OH 45005 with Pastor Danny Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, contribution in Ricky's name may be made to the LV Benevolent Fund in care of Horizon Pointe Church.
