Robert R Adkins

Roger was born January 22, 1931 in Hazel Green, KY to Lilly and Joshua Adkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings, Arnold, Bill, Paul, Jesse, Joe, Bessie, Carrie, Indiabelle, Lillian, Marie and Mary.

Roger is blessed by two marriages with wives that he loved dearly. He was married to faye Cox Adkins for 39 years and Doris Kirby Adkins for 23. Together they shared 9 children, Becky (Chris) LeForce, Beth (Paul) Jewett, Bob Adkins, Frank (Sarah) Kirby, Kim Adkins, Lisa (Jerry) Jackson, Paula Owens, Phil (Lisa) Kirby,Vickie (Robert) Yates; 29 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Roger was extremely proud of being a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War and a United Auto Workers Union member. He retired from General Motors/Dayton with 37.5 years of service.

We honor his wishes in not having a formal funeral service. Please remember him as you celebrate holidays with your families. He loved his family endlessly and a holiday family meal gathering was something he always looked forward to enjoying.

We thank the nursing and care staff of Arlington Pointe for two years of wonderful care. They were always able to make his day a little brighter.
