
Robert Lee Bunnell, age 82, of Middletown, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. He was born in Middletown on December 31, 1930, the son of Ray Paul Bunnell and Blanche Wells Bunnell. Robert was owner and operator of Bunnell's Marathon Service Station for 40 years. He then worked at Tech-Way Industries, Franklin, Ohio for 10 years, then worked part time for Brown's Run Country Club. He was a former member of the North Middletown Fire Department, troop leader for Boy Scouts, lifetime member of the Razor's Edge Chapter of Barbershop Harmony, and he coached Middletown Knothole Baseball. He is survived by his wife whom he married October, 1950, Joan M. Fleming Bunnell; two daughters, Vicki husband, Gerrit Bunnell of Columbia, South Carolina, Connie husband, Ed Bunnell Griffis of Middletown; one son, Tad wife, Mary Bunnell of Middletown; five grandchildren, Nick Bunnell, Brandon Griffis, Frans Jobsis, Conor Griffis, Robert Jobsis; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial immediately following at Woodside Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
