

Roger Wayne Brandenburg, age 67, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday morning at his residence. He was born in Middletown, August 25, 1943, the son of Douglas and Lorrain Brandenburg, and served 2 years in the Army. He was a Plate Maker for the American Packaging Company, retiring after 30 years of service. He enjoyed golfing with a close group of friends, who arranged a final outing during his illness so he could enjoy a final special day with them. Mr. Brandenburg had worked at Shaker Run Golf Club during his retirement years. He doted on his two canine family members, Skippy and Katie. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Marcia Combs Brandenburg; a son, Geoffrey Isaac Brandenburg; a sister, Marsha Doodigan of Union WA; a brother, Charles Brandenburg of Booneville KY; and his mother-in-law, Betty Meister of Middletown. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents, Clay and Ada Brandenburg. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Hospice of Middletown, and to Dr. Mary Ellen Gaeke. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 25, at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, officiated by Mr. Tim Hale. Friends may call from 12 noon until service time on Monday. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, with military rites performed by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
