

Ruby M. Weidner, age 97 of Middletown, passed away Monday evening at Mt. Pleasant Village. She was born April 7, 1917 in Middletown, the daughter of Leo Wilch and Helen Paden Wilch. Mrs. Weidner retired in 1979 from Armco Steel, where she worked as Bill Verity's secretary, and was asked to come back to work for Bill in 1987 as he became the Secretary of Commerce under President Ronald Reagan. Ruby was a longtime member of Wildwood Golf Club and worked as secretary and historian for the club. Ruby is survived by sons; Charles E. Judy Weidner, Jr. of Middletown, David E. Linda Weidner of Chatham, MA, Donald E. Weidner of Middletown and Paul E. Maureen Weidner of Marietta, Georgia; 7 grandchildren, Casey Denise Weidner, David G. Weidner, Lydia Mike Lander, Jason Erin Weidner, Sarah Mark Lindeen, Natalie, and Mitchell Weidner; 11 Great grandchildren, Melissa Kennard, Zoe Ashcroft, Dylan Lander, Nicklaus Weidner, Abigayle Weidner, Jude Weidner, David R. Weidner, Saffron Weidner, Cecelia Lander, Hawk Weidner and Noah Lindeen; 3 Great great grandchildren, Alexis Kennard, McKinnan Kennard, and Eli Ashcroft; and one brother, William "Bill" Wilch. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Weidner in 2007; a son, Gary Weidner; her parents, a brother, Robert Wilch; two sisters, Marcia Barker and Sharon Weiss; and a granddaughter Susan Weidner. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wildwood Golf Club.
