Ruth Carpenter

Ruth M. Carpenter, age 95, of Monroe, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born March 6, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the daughter of Elmer Moorehead and Margaretta McBriarty Moorehead. Ruth volunteered at Otterbein for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband of 73 years: Clyde Carpenter; one daughter, Ruth Dale Short of Middletown; one son, Ralph Ruth Carpenter of Hamilton; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one daughter-in-law, Joan Carpenter. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Carpenter; and one brother, Ralph Moorehead. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Reverend Tim Waugh officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monroe United Methodist Church, 206 East Avenue, Monroe, Ohio 45050.
