She was preceded in death by her husband Rutherford in 2011; a son, Ernie Middleton, and two sisters, Thelma Smiley and Pauline Keating.
Irene is survived by her children, Joyce Aills (Steve), Rutherford Middleton Jr., and James D. Middleton (Carolyn); two brothers, Leroy and Bill Hutchins; and a sister, Florence Lock. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris, Christy, Zachary, Sarah, Josh, and Casey and great grandchildren, Samantha, Willie, Ally, and Jason.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home (Franklin). Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Jersey Presbyterian Church Cemetery. www.anderson-fh.com
