Shirley Cook

Shirley Y Cook, age 89 of Springboro Ohio went home to be with Jesus on November 12, 2025 surrounded by family. Born on April 4, 1936 in Tallega, Kentucky to Earl and Bernice Kincaid, she was a faithful servant of the Lord. She attended Berea college, earning her Bachelors in Education. Shirley married Ralph (Skeeter) Cook on January 28 1961 together they had two children, three grandchildren, one great grandchild.

Shirley was a devoted teacher and spent 30+ years in the Franklin city school district teaching kindergarten and first grade at Gerke elementary. Shirley was a lifelong member of the Franklin Church of God, where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who touched countless lives through her teaching career and her role as Sunday school teacher. Shirley enjoyed reading, gardening and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Ralph ( Skeeter Cook; children Derrick (Anna) Cook, Angie (William) Fitts; grandchildren Stefan (Amberli) Cook, Sydney Cook, Jayden Fitts; and her great grandson Kai Cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bernice Kincaid and sister Wanda Lee. Shirley held an unwavering faith in God which she shared with everyone around her.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 22, 2PM to 5 PM at Anderson Celebration Center, Franklin, OH. In Lieu flowers, donations may be made to the My Franklin Church, children's ministry, 704 S. River St. Franklin Ohio 45005.
