

Shirley M. Harrison, age 81 of Franklin passed away Saturday, November 12 at her Residence. She was born February 12, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio. She was the only child of Charles and Beatrice (Martin) O'Hara. Shirley loved her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and was there at a drop of a hat when anyone needed her. Especially when a grandchild was born, she was the first to hold them. She was always a caretaker, until she was affected with Alzheimer's disease, then her children reversed the role. She was a member of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Harrison; son, Johnny Harrison; infant son, Jeffrey Alan Harrison; step father, Orville "Bob" Bowen; and special friend, Mary Kathleen Hayslett.
Shirley is survived by her children, Rebecca Jane Braunlin, Pamela Jean Stroshien (Tony), Charles Wesley Harrison, Bess Ann Nicholson (Wayne), and Judith Irene Ellis (Jeff); 12 grandchildren, Kelli Gescuk, Heather Braunlin-Jones, Robbie Byrd, Jamie Byrd, Ashley Boggs, Patrick Lovely, Tommy Harrison, Sarah Kuykendoll, Nathan Harrison, Chelsea Harrison, Jarrod Ellis, and Jacob Ellis and a host of great grandchildren and her devoted pets. The family would like to give appreciation to Shirley's Family physician, Raman Khosla M.D. for his care and compassion, the Warren County Elderly Services, and Hospice of Dayton.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (Franklin). Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. www.anderson-fh.com. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Dayton.
