

Susan E. Snead, 82, passed away on Sep 22,2026 after a long and courageous health battle. She is preceded in death by her father Dr. Earl C. Wright, mother Mrs. Opal Wright, sister Judy Murphy and sister-in-law Jean Meyer. Susan is survived by her husband Dr. Warren Snead, son Jeffrey Snead (Karla), daughter Heather Marshall (Rob), and grandchildren Jake Snead, Ella Snead, Spencer Marshall (Alyssa)and Chase Marshall. She is also survived by her brother David Wright (Jackie) and her beloved sisters-in-law, Joyce Lowry, Debbie Ratliff, and Kimberly Zech.
Susan grew up in Waynesville Ohio where she attended school K-12. During her school years, Susan participated in school plays and wrote a weekly column in the Western Star. She graduated as the valedictorian in 1962 and worked for Ohio Bell. Susan married the love of her life and best friend, Warren, in 1965. As a military spouse from 1968-1970, Susan welcomed her children and her family became the center of her life. She always put their needs above her own.
Although completely dedicated to raising her children, Susan still found time to volunteer by supporting Dayton Children's Hospital as a member of TWIGS. Professionally she worked as a Registered Animal Technician for many years at Twin Maples Veterinary Hospital. Susan, a 30-year breast cancer survivor, also volunteered her time counseling others through the American Cancer Society's "Reach to Recovery" program.
Always smiling, Susan's vivacious bubbly personality, drew others to her. In her leisure time she participated in many social activities and had hobbies including waterskiing, snow skiing and golf. She especially enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of her book club. Susan cherished traveling with Warren and was an avid Ohio State football fan.
In recent years, her greatest joy has been being "Gram". Susan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend to many will be deeply and truly missed.
Susan's family will accept condolences at Sycamore Creek Country Club, 8300 Country Club Lane, Springboro OH, on Thursday evening, Oct 15, 2026, from 5:00-8:00pm. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to come to her Celebration of Life. Please join us to visit, share a story, and remember the blessing that Susan was to her family and friends. Light appetizers will be served and at 6:30pm there will be an opportunity for those who wish to honor Susan to speak.
A funeral service with Holy Communion will be held at 2:00pm on Friday October 16, 2026, at St. George's Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH followed by interment at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her honor to a charity of your choice.
