I just learned of Talmadge's death and am so sorry I missed his funeral service.  He was a special man and I always enjoyed seeing and talking with him.  My dad always said Talmadge was the go-to man when you needed a piece of hardware that just couldn't be located elsewhere.  He was always so willing to help someone in need.  I also appreciate how he watched over my Aunt Gertie after Opie's death.  He was a wonderful saint and lived his Christianity for all to see.  God bless you all in your grief and loss.

Talmadge was one of the most genuine, Godly men in my life from as far back as I remember. No way anyone could have had a better friend or neighbor. 

I was only three or four years old in my earliest memories of being at his house. Alma would babysit me anytime mom needed help. They were dear friends when I was a little guy, attending church together since before I was born. 

So Alma and Talmadge were dear family friends many years. Dad had a hankering for a move out of Middletown to a property with more trees and garden space. They told mom and dad about 4652 St Rt 122 and we became the Perkins' next door neighbors in the late fall of 1977. I was 12 years old. 

Dad was really good at a few things, but cars, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting anything mechanical were not on his list. Talmadge was the go to guy for a ton of that stuff and he always had the time and just the right solution. Dad paid him with home churned buttermilk usually. 

No one is perfect, but few people have the heart and integrity and live as consistently as Alma and Talmadge. I am heartbroken that I cannot be with the family today. I grew up around Scott and Keith though they are much older than me. I don't know their kids, Talmadge's grandkids at all. But I know the void they will now have and I share their grief. He was as dear to me the first half of my life as any grandfather. I'm grateful they shared him with the neighbors. 

Best of all, I have no doubt I will enjoy eternity with Talmadge. I am thankful for the secure salvation I laid hold on years ago, and men like Talmadge who are such strong, steadfast leaders for the cause of Christ, fulfill His purpose- thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Talmadge was salt of the earth, and he never lost his savor. His Godly example made many of us continually "taste and see" that the Lord is good. What a wonderful blessing to have known and loved and to have been loved by such a dear man.

To the family of Talmadge Perkins I send my condolences, nothing can prepare us for the loss of a loved one, may you find comfort in family and close friends, fond memories, and god who is the source of all comfort, Isaiah 41:10 says "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.’"

What a precious man of God who I admired for his tender loving care of Alma and their pet. He used to always tease me and we'd ask each other if the other was behaving! LOL I loved seeing he and Alma at church and at the vet clinic <3 God has gained a special angel.

What a precious man. The love of Jesus poured out of him at every level! Oh how he loved his Lord, his Alma, his family and his church family. I was blessed to pastor him for six wonderful years! Rest High on the Mountain, Brother and I'll see you over there!

From the Rowland family, We were blessed to have Alma and Talmadge as neighbors for many years, and marriage of 66 that was the greatest love story, they were an asset to our community!

To Alma, the children, grandchildren & all other members of Talmadge's family. Ray & I were so sorry to hear of your great loss. What a very special person & servant of God Talmadge was. Everyone that has ever had the honor of meeting him loved him. His precious memories we can all hold close in our hearts till one day if we repent, ask forgiveness and invite Jesus into our hearts to love & serve Him alone then when our journey on earth ends we too can join all our loved ones & friends in Heaven to never say good bye again. Until that day The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26.
