Timothy Eugene Shelton

Timothy Eugene "Tim" Shelton, age 76, of Middletown, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Middletown, Ohio on Wednesday July 2, 2025. Tim was born on November 17, 1948 in Middletown, OH to the late Ralph and Lucille Shelton.

Tim graduated from Carlisle High School in 1967. He married his high-school sweet-heart, Kimberlyn Sue Caudill on April 11, 1967. Tim enlisted in the United States Army that same year. He received his basic training at F.t Knox in Kentucky and was sent on to Ft. McClellan, Alabama and Ft. Benning, Georgia. In 1968, he served a tour of duty in Vietnam where he earned many medals including a Purple Heart and 3 Bronze Stars. Tim was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO and was Honorably Discharged in 1971.

Tim and Sue returned to Ohio where he worked as a police officer for a few years. Then he started his career as a Training Officer for Lebanon Correctional Institute, Warren County Prison and Dayton Correctional Institute. He also served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the City of Carlisle for several years. In 1998, Tim had to retire due to severe health issues. Once retired, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his neighbors, especially his grandchildren.

Tim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Shelton; daughter, Angie (Greg) Vincent; son, Tim (Holly) Shelton; grandchildren, Elijah, Katie, James, Reece, Garrett, Wyatt; brother, Jerry Shelton. Tim is also survived by his aunt, Barbara Mabry, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Paul and Clara Ellis, Jim and Myrtle Gay; mother and father-in-law, Lillian and Kimble Caudill, brothers, David and Robert Shelton.

A visitation for Timothy will be Monday, July 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005, followed by a Funeral Service with Pastor Greg Banks officiting.

Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery with military honors.
