

Talbert (TJ) Turner, age 81 of Franklin, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Hospice of Butler-Warren Counties from complications following a stroke on Christmas Day. He was born April 25, 1933 in Wolfcoal, KY, the son of Alex and Nannie (Adams) Turner.
TJ is survived by a loving family, including his wife of 58 years, Geneva; a son, Randy (Cecilia) Turner of Liberty Twp.; 2 granddaughters, Elise (Michael) Howe of New York City, NY and Allison Turner of San Francisco, CA; a great-grandson ("Baby Howe") due March, 2015; and a sister, Sally Sparks of Germantown.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry: an infant daughter, Vickie; a grandson, Matthew; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.
TJ was retired from Miami Paper Co. where he worked 44 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the local VFW. A proud Kentuckian, he was a Kentucky Colonel and a fan of bluegrass music. TJ liked to play the guitar. When he played "I Saw the Light," his young granddaughters would dance around the room. A frequent attendee at Franklin Wildcat basketball games, TJ was also an ardent fan of UK basketball.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East Second Street, Franklin. The funeral service will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Anderson Funeral Home with Reverend Pastor Vernon Risner officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.
