Valerie Mae Wright

Valerie Mae (Sempsrott) Wright passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024. Valerie’s passing was so peaceful with her family by her side at their home in Madison Township, Ohio. Valerie entered eternity in Heaven, as an undisputed winner, after her long hard fight with cancer for nearly six years.

Valerie grew up in Liberty Township, Ohio and graduated from Lakota West High School in 1998. Valerie had a love of dance, studying tap and jazz from age three through age 16, at which time she joined the Lakota West Marching Band’s color guard. She graduated from Miami University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. It was at this time that she met the love of her life and future husband, Todd Clarkson Wright, along with many lifelong friends that she remained in touch with throughout her life. Valerie was a dedicated employee at Luxottica in Mason, Ohio for 12 years and rose to the position of Workers’ Compensation Manager.

Valerie and Todd married in 2003 and enjoyed 20 years of building a beautiful life together with their two children, Gavin (16) and Allyson (13), and her beloved Goldendoodle, Bella. Valerie enjoyed family vacations, camping, attending her children’s sporting events, and coaching the Madison Elementary Youth Cheer Team. She was a devoted and active member of the Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Springboro, Ohio for many years, where she formed many eternal friendships.

Valerie is survived by her loving husband Todd, children Gavin and Allyson, parents Bill and Donna Sempsrott, brother Bill (Christina) Sempsrott, grandmother Helen Richardson, mother-in-law Becky Wright, grandmother-in-law Ardilla Tinch, sister-in-law Lori (Larry) Fletcher, father-in-law Harold (Jean Lakes) Wright, nieces Ella, Gracie, and Bekah, nephew Aidan, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her aunt and uncle Pam and Bob Gregory, uncles Charlie Sempsrott and Ronnie Sempsrott, her nephew Landon, grandparents, and many other family members.

A visitation for Valerie will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd Street, Franklin, Ohio 45005. A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Springboro Cemetery, 2348 W. Lower Springboro Road, Springboro, Ohio 45066.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff at Kettering Health Main Campus in Dayton, Ohio and Fidelity Home Health for their exceptional care, kindness, support, and friendship. Without these talented and loving caregivers, we would have never been able to provide her with such a great level of care at home.
