Vernon Ray "Shorty" Ransom, Sr. age 77, of Franklin, Ohio, died Monday August 13, 2018 at Sycamore Medical Center. He was born in Moores Hills, Indiana on February 23, 1941 to John and Eula (Landers) Ransom. He was employed with General Motors for 25 years and retired in 1994. He was preceded in death by his father, John Peyton Ransom, mother, Eula Pearl Ransom, wife, Frances Marie Ransom, brother, John Ransom, Sr. Vernon is survived by his son, Vernon Ransom Jr., daughter, Chris Childress; two sisters, Virginia Oleen Wager and Janet Sue Miller; grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsey (Jimmy), Bradly (Lando), and Emily (Brandon); eight great grandchildren, Brianna, Chloe, Lukas, Izabella, Addilynn, Scarlett, Greyson and River.
