Lewis enjoyed a career of 35 years with the Lemon Monroe and Middletown School District. He was an Assistant Principal at Amanda Jr. High and Principal at Middletown High School.
After his retirement he mentored advanced math students and taught classes at AK Steel. He also served as the executive director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Lewis is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Florence Elizabeth Hill and two daughters, Katherine Hill and Debra Copher.
Funeral service will be at 11am Monday September 12, 2016 at Monroe Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be from 10 am-11 am prior to the service. Burial will be at College Corner Cemetery, College Corner, IN.
