

age 88, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Atrium Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born December 21, 1926 in WheelingWV,seventh child of proud Ukrainian immigrants,George and Anna Siewny.
AWorldWar II veteran,Walt washonorably discharged from the US Army in 1946, having served in Trieste, Italy.
Benefiting from the GI bill, heearned a Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University, leading to a career asCFO forAeroncaInc. and MTL Inc.
His many passions includedfamily,golf, big band music, and military history. He was a thoughtful Christian, devoted to his local church. Hecaredforall God’s creatures including avariety of wildlife.
An avid member of Wildwood Golf Course, Walt’s golfing achievements included five holes-in-one and shooting below his age many times (from the men’s tees.) The highlight, though, was saving a fellow Wildwood golfer’s life with CPRon No. 17after being struck by lightening.
Survivors includethe love of his life, Bert Siewny,towhom hewasmarriedjust short of 60 years; his son, Gregory Walter Siewny (Jeanne); his daughter, Susan Siewny (Dick Day); his sister, Annie Comas;his four grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Rachael, and Emma; and Toby.
There will be a private service on Saturday, August 29.
