

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
William Dee Leng was born December 6, 1950 in Galesburg, IL. He was raised in Victoria, Aledo, and Monmouth, IL. He graduated from Monmouth High School and attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, IL. He enlisted in the United States AirForce, served in Vietnam, and retired after twenty years. After retiring he received his bachelor's and master's degree in education at Illinois State University. He then served in The Civil Service at his place of residence in Fairborn, OH.
He is survived by one daughter Rachelle [Chad] McLeod, Florida and two sons Tyler Leng and Jared Arteaga. Also, surviving is half sister Annette McKey, Henry, IL and half brother Matthew Leng, Urbana, IL. Also surviving are many cousins in Illinois.
Those that preceded him in death were his grandparents Robert and Mary Leng of Victoria, his father William Leng of Woodhull, his step mother Beatrice Leng of Woodhull, his half sister Brenda Grassle of Davenport, IA, step brother Monte Leng of Chicago, and his birth mother Donna Moore of Tennessee.
Through the years Billy Dee (Bill) enjoyed sports; basketball and playing golf throughout his life. Favored past times were traveling, gardening, cinema, Asian culture, Buddhism, American History, and poetry. He also loved stories, and gathering with friends and neighbors.
Rachelle, Tyler & Jared along with Princess City Kitty held special places in his heart.
