I was not fortunate enough to know your dad for a long time, but I was blessed to see evidence of his faithful, and loving devotion to your mom, as well as to you, your siblings, and husband Mr. Brown. Your father was kind, loving and considerate of others...that's a hallmark I've seen in the Orange  Brown family. Dear Gloria and family,

In the 40 or so years we have known you folks, I have never had a better friend than Atlis.  Every few days one of us will mention something Atlis said or did that brings a chuckle.  Numerous times I have retold his pantomime of getting out of the waterbed, but not as well as he could perform it.  We looked at his cards again recently that he painted.  What a talent!  I remember the long talks we had about politics and patriotism.  Our kids had a great time handing out brochures together.  I could continue, but to sum it up, we sure will miss him.

At least we will all be together again in heaven.  What a blessing.  God bless all of you!

  The short time i was around the family, and Atlis, is a very memoriable time for me. i love and enjoy everybody so much. Its amazing because looking back at everybody... everyone has a little piece of Atlis in them. Stand strong everybody and know that your husband, father, papo, uncle, friend is always right there with you watching over you. Everybody who met Atlis enjoyed his presence always. Gloria is a wonderful women, very strong and also really funny, Im happy to know that there is true love still living on in such a amazing couple. We will all miss Atlis but it is NOT the last time we will see him. We all have allot waiting for us with our Lord. I miss everybody and love you all. And know that when I first met EVERYBODY i fell in love at first hug!

Hi Daddy - I can't imagine how life is going to go on here without you.  You were always there for all of us with such good advice and even when when life could get so serious, you could make us smile and laugh and make things not seem so bad.  I can't imagine not being able to pick up the phone and talk to you. I take such great comfort in knowing I will be seeing you again one day. But I'm really going to miss you so much. It was very sad to receive the phone call from Ricky telling me that Atlis had passed away.  I cannot begin to imagine what each one of you must be feeling right now, but know that you are comforted by your faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and His promise of eternal life.
 
I appreciate having known Atlis and for the part that he played in my life as a young man.  He was a good friend, a fine example of a Christian man,  and I feel privileged to have known him, and to have had the honor of having been welcomed into his home. 
 
His legacy will continue to live on in the lives of each one of his children and each of their progeny.  As it will in the lives of all of us who were privileged to witness his example, and who have been blessed by his friendship.

Hi Daddy....
