Belinda Cuaresma De Mayo, 76, of San Jose, CA, became a loving ancestor on 2/17/2026. She was born in Botolan, Zambales, Philippines on 1/6/1950 to Indalecio Fuñe Cuaresma of San Narciso and Isabel Dres Cuaresma of Binalonan.
Belinda attended Zambales High in Iba, Far Eastern University for pre-nursing in Manila, and graduated in 1971 from Santa Teresita School of Nursing in Quezon City. After securing a nursing sponsorship from Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, she began her nursing career. She and Wally De Mayo eventually settled in San Jose, CA, and had three children, Melissa, Jonathan, and Derrick. She was hardworking and dedicated to her pediatric patients at Alexian Brothers Hospital/Regional Medical Center from 1980 until her retirement in 2017.
Belinda was a dear gayyem (friend), kabsat (sister), mother, aunt, and "Oma" (grandmother). She spoke five languages, enjoyed daily walks to Groesbeck Park, potlucks at Lake Cunningham, gardening, vacationing, and flying to see her kids and grandkids in Southern CA and family in Zambales. She was described as funny, generous, and respected for her straightforward approach. She loved ballroom dancing with friends at Mt. Hamilton Grange Hall, the Filipino Community of Santa Clara, and a number of other local groups.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Romulo. She is survived by her children: Melissa (spouse Sean; grandchildren Nikalea, Makai, Keoni), Jonathan, Derrick (spouse Rachelle), Valentino (spouse Tammy; grandchildren Aliana and Arden), and Lyn (spouse Mark; grandchild Josiah), and siblings Jun, Amor, Ester, as well as many family members and friends who will miss her dearly. We find comfort in knowing that Belinda's legacy lives on through the lessons she taught us, the love she shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. Angana akita tayo manen.
