February 25, 1938 – September 21, 2025
Benjamin Franklin (Frank) Evans III entered Heaven on September 21, 2025, and has been joyfully reunited with his beloved wife of 42 years, Nelda Evans.
Frank was born on February 25, 1938, in New York City, New York, to Benjamin Franklin Evans Jr. and Alice Leonard Evans. He spent his early childhood in New York before his family moved across the country to California in July 1951. Frank attended Hollywood High School and later graduated from UCLA with a degree in Physics.
After high school, Frank served his country in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in Cambria, California, and at Edwards Air Force Base. During his four years of service, he received extensive training in electronics—a skill that became the foundation of his lifelong professional career.
Frank began his civilian career at The Boeing Company in Washington State, contributing to the development of the iconic Boeing 747. Later, he joined Stanford University Hospital, where he worked for more than 25 years installing, repairing and maintaining critical medical equipment. It was there that he met his beautiful wife, Nelda, whose warmth and kindness captured his heart. They married on December 29, 1979, and together shared many years of love, laughter, and adventure.
A longtime resident of Milpitas, California, Frank had a curious mind and a passion for learning. He loved to fly airplanes, study the sciences, and hear his wife sing. His deep faith in Jesus Christ guided his life—from the integrity with which he worked to the generosity he showed others. He found joy in God’s creation and had a lifelong desire to share his knowledge and his Christian faith with others.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin Evans Jr.; his mother, Alice Evans; his brother, Royal Evans; and his cherished wife, Nelda Evans. He is survived by his sister, Gail Cassee of Mill Valley; his brother, Tom Evans of Oxnard; and many nieces and nephews who will always remember his wisdom.
His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, reunited with those he loved most, and welcomed into the arms of his Savior.
