Butch Marigondon Bautista

Butch Marigondon Bautista, beloved husband, father, and grandfather departed from this world peacefully in his sleep at the age of 76 on Sunday, July 22, 2018 next to his loving wife.

He was born on May 14, 1942 in Pulanglupa, Las Piñas to Leon and Petronila Bautista and was the eldest of their eleven children.

When he was 24 years old, Butch enlisted for the U.S. Navy in 1966 and was stationed in Maryland, Virginia, Japan, and California. In 1982, he returned to Las Piñas to marry his wife, Teresita Delos Santos Bautista. Butch became a U.S. citizen in 1987 before settling with his wife at the home they bought in Vallejo, CA in 1989. He retired from the Navy in 1989 and found employment with the U.S. Postal Service until 2016 when he retired from the workforce.

Butch found enjoyment watching Tagalog shows, basketball, and football. He also liked gardening and had an abundant garden in his backyard that bore various food and herbs such as avocado, calamansi, rosemary, and stevia.

Preceding him in death are his parents: Leon and Petronila; his brother: Rolando; and his sisters: Alicia and Eva. He is survived by his wife: Tess; his siblings: Danny, Been, Alicia, Sonia, Rod, Edna, and Boyet; his children: Micc and Ricc; and his grandchildren: Haley, Armani, Macie, Zaden, and Carson.

Oh man! I don't know where to start.. so many good memories to share.. uncle Butch just wanted to thank you for all the good memories.. I'll missed your very nice contagious smile and laugh.. specially when we gathered ..your jokes.. your punch line.. your such a down to earth person next to uncle Rolly ..and im always thankful for looking out for me all the time.. may your rest in peace..it's not a goodbye..I'll see you in that big morning.. when you holding the Lord's ✋.. now your with nanay.. tatay and uncle Rolly one of the down to earth.. straight up person I've known... thank you! Thank you and thank you!

Biography

Butch Marigondon Bautista, beloved husband, father, and grandfather departed from this world peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 22, 2018 next to his loving wife.

Born Bonifacio Marigondon Bautista on May 14, 1942 in Pulanglupa, Las Piñas to Leon and Petronila Bautista, he was the eldest of their eleven children. He changed his legal name to Butch Marigondon Bautista when he became a U.S. citizen on September 17, 1987.

Growing up in Las Piñas, he graduated from Rizal Central College in 1958 and went to college at Feati University. He enjoyed watching movies and loved going fishing. Fish was his favorite food.

When he was 24 years old, he enlisted for the U.S. Navy on May 20, 1966. He started in San Diego, CA for training and then went to Rhode Island Naval Station. After, he went aboard the South Carolina USS Semmes and got stationed in Annapolis, Maryland Naval Station (USS Ponce LPD 19). Butch was also at the Yorktown Naval Station in Virginia on the USS Virginia CGN 38 before being transferred to the Blueridge LCC 19 stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. His final station was in Moffett Field in Mountain View, CA.

When he was stationed in Japan, he went back to the Philippines to marry his wife, Teresita (Tess) Delos Santos Bautista, on September 18, 1982 in Las Piñas. They were married for 35 years. When he was stationed in Moffett Field, they bought their home in Vallejo, CA and moved there in 1989.

Upon retiring from the Navy on May 31, 1989, he worked two years at Sola in Petaluma and then found employment with the U.S. Postal Service until January 2016 when he retired from the workforce. During his retirement, he found enjoyment watching his Tagalog shows, basketball, and football. His favorite teams were the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco 49ers. Butch also liked gardening and had an abundant garden in his backyard that bore various food and herbs such as avocado, calamansi, rosemary, and stevia.
