Candido Soliven Ornido

August 28, 1951October 25, 2019

Candido Ornido was known by his family and friends as, Dong. He was born in Tandaay, Nabua, Camarines Sur in the Philippines on August 28, 1951. Dong grew up in a family of 12 siblings and he was the oldest. When he started to go to school he went to live with his grandma and grandpa until he finished high school. They treated him as their youngest son and Dong loved them very much. After high school he went to Pasay City and he joined the Philippine Air Force at the age of 18. He served 18 years in the military before coming to California with his family in 1987 at the age of 36.

Dong is remembered as a loving, responsible and dedicated father and husband to his family. He worked very hard to give his family a good future and through the help of our Almighty God he found a job in the Bay Area that enabled him and his wife to move to their own home from San Jose to Newark, CA. in 1996 and lived there as their primary residence. Dong is survived by his wife Aurora and 2 Sons Alvin and Charles, and his Grandson Devin.

Dong worked in various electronic companies in the bay area. He met many loyal friends from these companies who have remained close with him over the years. We are happy to share some of these previous coworkers of Dong who are here today celebrate the life he lived.

Dong has always been generous and ready to help anytime as much as he can. One such way has been to help relatives complete their education to further their careers. We will never forget Dong’s love and dedication to all his friends and family.
