Danilo Bautista, a devoted husband, loving brother, caring uncle, and proud father and grandfather, was born in the Philippines on February 12, 1944. His life was marked by hard work, service, and deep devotion to family.
Danilo helped pave the way for his siblings to build better lives in the United States, always prioritizing family. In 1965, he joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, serving honorably for 20 years. His Navy career took him around the world and across the country, including Italy, Long Beach, CA, Norfolk, VA and Corpus Christi, TX.
After retiring from the Navy in 1985 in Milpitas, California, Danilo began a second career at Lockheed Martin, where he worked for 16 years on satellite programs. He was especially proud to witness NASA launches at Cape Canaveral, memories he treasured deeply.
For the last four decades, Danilo called the Bay Area home. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: working on house projects, tending to his garden, lighting up the room with his love of ballroom dancing and karaoke at parties, and spending treasured time with his family, grandchildren, and many friends.
Danilo is survived by his beloved wife, Josie; his stepdaughter; grandchildren; siblings; extended family; and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Family and friends are lovingly invited to gather in faith to honor Danilo’s life and legacy. Your prayers and presence mean so much to the family.
