When Eddie walked into a room you knew it. He was a handsome man who loved the ladies. If you knew him, you knew he would always tell it like it was. Either you loved him or you didn't there was no in between. He was a strong loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He had a great life until it was sadly taken away from him to early and unexpectedly. He wasn't someone who got angry. He never yelled he was just loud. He seemed mean at times but he was really a sweet kind man and he will be missed.
He was born on September 17,1942 in Alameda County to John (mouse) Supriano and Evelyn Supriano. He had an older brother whom preceded him in death Donald Supriano. According to cousin Joyce Eddie grew up in San Leandro with a bunch of cousins, aunts, uncles and most of them lived on Pacific Ave in San Leandro. A mingling of cousins, They had tons of fun playing in the fields and streets and going down to the Bay which, of course is now the Marina. There use to be a grove of almond trees on Pacific Ave and they all lived on the other side of the street, but during the second WW all those houses were built. Eddie and all his cousins use to play and hide in the tall sticker bushes. He was in the Navy Reserves. He worked at Manor Bowling Alley behind the counter, fixing the machines and pins and Bartending. He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company until he was laid off. He also worked for Lucky Warehouse and Owens Glass Factory. He also worked for Hayward Video Duplicating Company. He also went out and started power washing homes and became interested in Real Estate and he went on to take the Real Estate exam and passed it the first time according to his friend Al and was successful in selling the hard to find properties in some extremely remote areas. He also said dad took pride in helping others and he did I agree with that, he was always helping everybody. Eddie was married to Dana and had two sons Robert and Daniel. Robert has three children, one daughter with Karen named Leah. Two sons with Kim named Connor and Christian and two great grandchildren Aiden and Adele. Daniel has three sons, one son Little Danny with Andrea and two sons Devon and Brenton with Teresa. Then he met our mom Susan and they had me Wendy and my brother Richie. My brother has four children Danielle, Jessica, Ashley and Michael with his wife Lou and Ashley Bates has two daughters Destinee and little Suzy with her Husband Garry Bates, Richie's granddaughters. My husband Michael and I have three children Michelle, Christina and Samantha and Michelle has a daughter our granddaughter Angel with Josh Finney. Some of our earliest memories of our dad were from the Apartment we lived in on Anita Ave. When we were growing up we could not waste food and one time Richie didn't finish his cheerios and dad made him sit in the highchair, by the time he ate them they were all soggy and he has never eaten cheerios again which actually were dad's favorite cereal with coffee in them. This was also the apartment were we learned to swim at, dad taught Richie to swim at age 4. It was also the pool that Wendy almost drowned in if not for dad she would have. Then we moved to a house in San Leandro on 163rd at that time dad was working at Manor Bowl in San Leandro. While working there he recorded a 290 game in league play. He thru a solid 10 on the first frame and picked up a spare and then 11 strikes in a row. Unfortunately Richie was never able to go head to head with Dad. During the summer we would go down to Woodrow Wilson School and play Baseball which is also where my father and I met my future husband who use to play baseball with my Dad. Dad was a great ball player he played short stop. He loved everything about baseball, he was quick and he had fast reflexes. As for me I remember being Daddy's little girl always. He would take us fishing at Lake Chabot, but he always worried about me getting close to the water. He taught us how to fish, scale and clean the fish and mom cooked them. He took Richie to the Berkeley Pier to fish at 3am they would load up the car and go and then off to the fifth wheel to eat breakfast and off to fishing. He use to take us bowling and he loved to go to Great America. I'll never forget the time that Caterpillar was on strike and he let me go hang out with him for the whole day and we drank coffee. He was always giving all of us kids coffee. One of the things Richie learned from dad was don't ever think you can take on an old man. Our brother Danny tried it once and got knocked out for 43 seconds. the rest of us just boxed with him for fun we were smarter than that. Even though Richie had the height and reach advantage he couldn't keep Dad off of him. Eddie was Golden Gloves Champion at the boys and girls club. Another thing I remember about my dad is the fact that my brother always got in trouble and I never did. With Dad it was do as I say not as I do. Do your homework, do your chores and go outside and play. He would tell us be a kid, play, have fun, explore ,don't get hurt or get into trouble and don't bother me until it's time for dinner and don't be late because we always ate dinner together as a family. At the end of the day come home to the people who love you, your family. Dad raised us to be respectful to our elders and he gave us a lot of freedom. We have passed all he has taught us on to our children. Dad loved working on cars and always let us help. He would tell us why pay someone else to do something that you can do yourself. There is not always going to be someone there to do things for you. Thanks to our Dad for raising us the way he did. We had two wonderful parents and we were blessed and loved, and we love and miss them dearly. Then he met Ellan and she had a son named Darrell and his wife Lorraine and they had two children Robert and Daniel and a great granddaughter Raquel which is Robert and Alex daughter and great grandsons Raymond and Anthony which are Daniel and Angela sons. Eddie, Darrell and Adam, loved to go fishing at Lake Chabot. The contest was to see whoever could catch the most fish would keep this hat until the next contest. Eddie was the last person to win the hat and it hasn't been seen since. One day Eddie, Chuck, Evelyn and Adam rented a boat to fish on the lake and Evelyn caught a fish by the tail. This was Eddie's sport. Eddie, Ellan, Jean, Donny, Bea and George would go to Reno quite often, Eddie was always in his hotel room playing Keno. He had many friends in Reno. He loved the Circus, Circus where he loved to play games and win stuffed animals. He also loved going to Orville to his mother's property and using his metal detector and panning for gold. For me what I loved about my dad was everything, I loved going to grandmas house on Friday nights and watching all the adults playing aggravation. One of my best memories with my dad was our trip to Reno we had a blast we were only suppose to go for a couple days and we ended up staying for a week, this was my first and last time on an airplane. What I want to say about my dad is he loved his cat Missy. I realized as I was a little older what a gift my Daddy is and how special he is. I realized I couldn't hold onto things that he did that hurt me in the past or I would be the loser of a great Dad. I remember one time my dad got drunk and me and me brother went out into the front yard and we were watching him through the window and his head fell face first into his plate of doggie diner, that is a funny memory. What I can say about my dad is that he had me Wendy his only daughter and he had four sons Robert, Daniel, Richard and Darrell. That no matter what they thought Dad loved them all. What I know about my Dad was the fact that he adored Ellan she was his best friend and he lived to make her happy and protect her they had a lot of fun times together. I'll never forget the time Danielle went over and shaved his back, it was so funny. Grandpa and Angel use to play Gameboy and eat oreos. Gameboy was his favorite thing to do in his older years he loved playing that game. His grand children were at his house often Ray and Anthony spent a lot of time at their grandpas house Ray and grandpa loved to play video games. A special Thank You to Lori for taking such good care of my Our Dad and Ellan, I know they are just like your parents and our Dad loved and appreciated you very much and so do the rest of us. Danielle, Jessica, Ashley and Michael spent a lot of holidays and birthdays at grandpas house. As for my family we were always at my Dads house. All of us and all of the grand children were at every gathering every party. Everything was always at Dad and Ellan's house, those were some of the best times we ever had. Michelle, Christina and Samantha always liked to fix up grandpas hair in all these funny ways and we would all get a good laugh. Christina was the one always up in his business and Samantha always went over there and played hot wheels and computer games with him. They loved their grandpa very much. As for My husband Michael, our Dad became like his own Dad they became very close and they loved each other, when Dad called Mike jumped for him, cooked for him, fixed his cars took him to the Doctor whatever he needed whenever he needed it and he will miss him dearly. As for Michelle and I, We have been at Dads beck and call for quite some time. The fact that he is my Dad and he is her grandfather was an honor for us to take care of him although not always easy it was a pleasure and we wouldn't change a minute of it. He wasn't always the easiest person to please, but once you did it his way you were fine. Michelle and him loved to go on the computer and make bets. He liked it when Michelle and I shaved him except once, when I was trimming his eyebrows and shaved half of it off Michelle and I were cracking up and I was telling her don't tell him and he was like what happened and we were like oh nothing. He liked when Michelle would give him a pedicure and a manicure. As for me I took care of all of his medications and his bills and cooking special meals he loved for the most part. I just loved being around him even when we both thought we were right and most of the time I just told him your right Dad. I loved all his kooky stories especially when he was in the hospital calling me all night at all times with some of the most off the wall stories. Or when he would call me in the middle of the night to tell me he was scared and I would get dressed and go up there just so he could sleep. My Dad was is and always will be my Daddy and my best friend, and I miss him dearly. I'm sorry Dad I wish I could have protected you and kept you safe. I will Love and Miss you for the rest of my life. You mean everything to me. PS all the grandkids thought they were your favorite, but really I was. REST IN PEACE DADDY.
