Erlinda Ramona Rufino, also known as Nona, was born on August 31, 1951 in Valenzuela, Bulacan, which is a province in Manila, Philippines. Her parents were Juan and Cecilia Cruz and she had three older siblings: Luisa, Narciso, and Alfredo. She graduated from the University of The East, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
In 1975, she and her mother migrated to the United States, and resided in San Jose, California. There, she lived with her brother Alfredo and sister in law Lucila Cruz. Nona started working at a semiconductor company called AMD, where she met Paul Rufino, who courted and eventually married her in 1977. Nona and Paul had 4 children: Albert, Ray, Phillip, and Emilie.
Nona had the most warmest personality and a smile that can light up the whole room. She was the kindest person ever, who opened up her home to all her family and friends. She was a mother figure not only to her own children, but also to her nephews and nieces. She got along with everyone who was lucky enough to crossed paths with her. She loved to travel, eat out, garden, cook, dance, go to concerts, watch movies/filipino soap operas and cheer on her favorite team, the Golden State Warriors. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, Avery James and Evan Jacob, who brought so much joy to her life.
Nona will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter, cousin and friend to all. She will forever be in our hearts.Arrangements under the direction of Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, Fremont, CA.
