

lovingly known to his family and friends as “Junior,” was born on May 28th 1945, in the barangay of Cabuloan, Urdaneta City, in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. He was the eldest child of Ernesto Lorica Sr. and Cresencia Baniago, and a devoted brother to his six siblings.
Junior earned his Bachelor’s degree in Science and Education from the University of Baguio in 1963. In 1969, he married his late longtime neighbor, Rebecca “Elvie” Collado. Together, they built a loving and devoted family, raising three daughters—Rhoda, Rowena and Ruby—and later welcoming four cherished grandchildren: Alexyss, Jervin, Kaitlyn and Jairo.
Throughout his life, Junior embraced many roles with dedication and pride. He served in the U.S Navy for four years and went on to work as a lawyer, farmer, city councilor, attorney, and high school teacher. His strong work ethic and commitment to service left a lasting impact on those around him.
In 1992, Junior and his family made the permanent move to San Jose, California, where he and Elvie built a life centered around family, faith and love for over three decades.
Following Elvie’s sudden passing in May 2025, Junior experienced a series of health complications that led to a gradual decline in his condition. He was admitted to the hospital four days before his passing, where he faced additional challenges. Surrounded by love and care, Junior passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2026.
Junior will forever be remembered for his strength, dedication, and deep love for his family. His presence, guidance and loving personality will always remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
