Estelita Ramos Anderson

Estelita, aka Lita, Ramos Anderson, 77, passed away from cancer surrounded by family at her home in Milpitas, California, on January 11, 2024. She was born in Angeles City, Pampanga on October 30, 1946, to the late Alfredo Ramos and Miguela Pineda. She was the oldest of five siblings. She is survived by two of her siblings, Virgilio and Amelia. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Angelito and Bernardo.

Estelita was a beloved wife to Michael P. Anderson Sr.; mother to two sons, Jason and Michael Jr.; and grandmother to three, Makenzie, Mason, and Micaiah. Lita met Mike Sr. at Clark Air Base and married on January 15th, 1973 in Angeles City, Pampanga. After the birth of Lita and Mike’s first son, Mike Jr., the couple moved back to the States in August 1974, settling down and building their community in Milpitas, California where they had their second son, Jason. Following Estelita’s move to California, she was able to petition for her siblings in the Philippines to immigrate to the United States. Upon her retirement from working in electronics manufacturing and caregiving, Lita always dreamed of making her way back to the Philippines and built a vacation home in her beloved hometown of Angeles City. Throughout the years of their retirement, Lita and Mike Sr. would alternate their time between Milpitas and Angeles City, either traveling abroad or spending quality time with family. Lita returned one last time to California in April 2023 before starting her cancer treatments.

Estelita was compassionate and had a big heart for the people she loved. Lita had immense passion for her family, gardening, cooking, hosting, and ballroom dancing. Her lovingness and unending generosity could be seen through the care for her family and everyone around her. She was a devout Catholic and heavily involved with her local church, St. John the Baptist. She attended mass every week and supported the Church by dropping off her home-cooked meals frequently. Her love for gathering people around for a good time and eating good food is undeniable. One of her favorite pastimes was cooking huge meals and she never missed an opportunity for family time at the dinner table. She also loved her morning walks in the neighborhood park, getting dressed up to go ballroom dancing, extravagantly decorating for the holidays, and spending time with her grandkids.

Lita will be missed by her loved ones and the many lives she cared for (and fed) throughout her lifetime. To commemorate Estelita’s life, a viewing at 10:30am followed by funeral mass at 12:30pm will occur on Friday, Feb 1st, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 279 S. Main St in Milpitas, California.
