Eufrocina Torres

She was born in Batangas, Philippines on May 7, 1941. Her Parents were Pedro Cometa and Rufina Alday who were both from the same Province. She was the youngest in the family of 7 siblings.

Finished her early school and High School at Batangas City, Philippines. Then studied Midwifery at Fabella School in Manila, Philippines.

Upon graduation she took another course at Far Eastern University studying Economics while being employed at then NAWASA, also known as Manila Water District. She was the Secretary of the late Director Oligario Cantos also from Batangas, who also became her Godfather/Ninong at her wedding. She moved on to work as a Midwife at Pedro Gil Health Center, until her retirement after 35 years.

During her days at FEU she became reunited with her childhood sweetheart Silvino, who then proposed to become her husband. They were of the same religious belief, members of the Knox United Methodist Church choir, until their wedding at the same church in Manila, Philippines.

Began their family at Tondo, Manila where she had her children. All four now having their own families: Cecile and husband Ferdinand with two kids Iris and JT; Nelson and wife Mina with kids Michael and Mikaela; Jocelyn and husband Arnel with kids John Carlo and Rizza; and the youngest Chona Alpha and husband Hermes with daughter Hannah, whom was most missed by her because they were in the Philippines.

The family relocated to San Andres, Manila staying for almost 20 years. Moved to San Pedro Laguna and stayed for 5 years, then to the US with her husband. She stayed with her daughter in New Jersey for 1 year, then with her son here in California, until she retired to rest permanently in the hands of Our Lord Almighty.

Visitation will be held at Lima Family Milpitas Fremont Mortuary in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, on October 24, 2013 at 10am-11pm. Memorial Service at 7pm.

Funeral Service will be held at Lima Family Milpitas Fremont Mortuary in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, on October 25, 2013 at 11am with Reverend Edna Andres officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
