Born in the province of La Union, Philippines. He was raised by his parents Leoncio Mayrena and Raymunda Velasco. He was a farmer and always enjoyed planting as a hobby. He met his wife Margarita Nacionales and both raised their five children. He and his wife immigrated to United States in mid-1980s. Felix greatest source of pride and joy was his family, and he cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, grand and great-grandchildren. He lived a full 105 years.
