He loved God and loved others….
Gavino Andres Bernales, fondly called “Itang” by all, was born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan on March 12, 1918. He was the younger of two sons born to Eusebio and Rosa Bernales. He grew up in the care of relatives even as his mother passed away when he was very young. He worked his way through high school and college and eventually finding a job with the Department of Forestry in Baguio City where he worked as a Special Disbursing Officer for forty-five years. He married Adelina Sobredo on September 7, 1942 and they were blessed with ten children (who he single-handedly supported thru college), 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He migrated to California in 1980 and has lived here since.
Itang spent the ninety-two years he lived on this earth to fulfill only two goals in life – to love God and to love others. He lived everyday focused on these goals, and
the result was a life that blessed others and glorified God.
