Herminigilda “Hermie” Desamito Romua, 91, of San Jose passed away on June 06, 2015 surrounded by family. Herminigilda was born on November 19, 1923 in Binalonan, Pangasinan to Doroteo Desamito and Francisca Dorion.
In 1940, Herminigilda graduated from De Luxe Fashion School in Santa Cruz, Manila mastering in Fashion Design. Shortly after, she married Alejo F. Romua, Sr. on August 23, 1942 at the Aglipayan Church in Binalonan, Pangasinan. They had six children. In 1983, Herminigilda and Alejo immigrated to the US and resided in San Jose. Prior to coming to the US she managed several businesses which include a gift, furniture, and jewelry shop.
She loved caring for her family, gardening, cooking, fashion design and dancing. She often wore her own designs when going to parties or dancing at the local senior community center. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Dancing With The Stars.
Herminigilda is survived by her husband, brother, four children, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
