Hortense A. Ambers

A 100 year old, long time Resident of Milpitas California. On November 28, 2015 another angel, Hortense (Susie, as she was known by some) Andrade Ambers, ascended into Heaven. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she touched in some small way throughout her entire very memorable life. Born in Del Rio, Texas and a 70 year resident of Milpitas. Hortense was preceded in Death by her first husband Daniel T. Andrade, second husband Kenneth Ambers, Daughter Eldelmira (Marie) Vierra, Grand Daughter Carmen M. Afanador, and Grandson Joseph S. Andrade, Parents, Genero and Eva Dominquez, Brothers, Ruben Dominquez, Efren Dominquez, Ed (Mundo) Dominquez, and Hank Dominquez. She is survived by her loving daughter Irma Afanador (Ray), son Danny Andrade (Gena), son-in-law Walter Vierra and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Survived by her loving Brothers, I.G. (Poncho) Dominquez, and Raul (Roy) Dominquez, Sisters, Alicia Castano, and Delia (Dee) Espinoza (Jimmy). She worked at a variety of jobs for many years and at Campbell’s Corner for 20 years where she was known for her famous linquica and beans. All Milpitas folk knew her. Hortense loved Christmas; it was her favorite time of the year as she made homemade tamales, Bunuelos and her hot salsa. She was an outstanding cook and could make something out of nothing. An outstanding gardener, with an exceptional green thumb. Now she is with God and is in great hands. Hortense/Mom/Grandma was truly an angel - such a pure, sweet and kind soul who always put her family first. Her family adored her and will miss her more than words can express. She will remain in their hearts forever.
