James Baker went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2013. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was preceeded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marguerite Jo Baker. James is survived by his children James Baker Jr., Ron and Maryann Baker, Rocky and Bobbie Baker, Susan (Baker) and Ron Hall, Diane (Baker) and John Weisskopf, Shirley (Baker) and Ron Jones. He has 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was born in Oklahoma, raised in Texas, and came to California 55 years ago. He was a Navy veteran and served as a medic in World War II. James worked hard all his life in the oil fields, as a milkman, and retired from Fremont Unified School District as a head custodian at Mission High School in 1988. James was an incredibly independent man who loved to garden and read. He was loved and will be missed by all who's lives he touched. The celebration of his life will begin at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11th, at Lima Family Milpitas Fremont Mortuary.
