Joaquin Taitano Garrido, 70.
Born on November 28, 1941 in the small village of Barrigada, Guam.
Loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. To everyone who knew him, family and friends meant the world to him. He needed nothing more and nothing less, except to “win the Lotto” as he would so openly joke around about.
Joaquin was known for his “happy, go lucky” attitude that would never fail to rub off on anyone who was blessed by his presence. He was the ultimate family man and family didn’t just stop with blood relatives. Joaquin treated everyone with love and respect, just how he wished to be treated.
Joaquin’s passions consisted of sports, whether it was watching his favorite football/baseball team (SF 49ers and SF Giants) or becoming the little league “Coach of the Year” for 5 consecutive years. Not only was he a fan but he had fans of his own.
From a child working on the farms to becoming a proud Army veteran, Joaquin was always a hard worker. Never complaining and always making the most out of what was in front of him.
As a proud retiree, Joaquin’s favorite activity was traveling with his high school sweetheart, his wife of 51 years, Concepcion Garrido.
Loyal President to Sacred Hearts Guam Club for 15+ years, Joaquin was a leader.
To live a life with no regrets is a hard task to ask of anyone, but Joaquin did just that.
He didn’t care to be a “rich” man or a “powerful” man, but just; Joaquin, a “good man”.
